Lekisha Cavalier

Ms. Lekisha Cavalier has been a Forensic Scientist in the Drug Chemistry Unit (DCU) at the Saint Lucia Forensic Science Laboratory (SLFSL) where she commenced independent casework in 2020.


Her roles include the analysis of seized controlled substances and the generation of court reports, as well as assisting with the supervision of any Forensic Assistant within the DCU. To date, she has worked on over 75 cases inclusive of both chemical and instrumental analysis. Ms. Cavalier’s interest lies in analytical instrumentation, and she is always eager to learn how to integrate the use of new instruments into her work process.


Driven by her love for science, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the interns that grace the walls of the Saint Lucia Forensic Science laboratory. Prior to her position at the laboratory, she was a Chemistry teacher at the Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School. She remains connected to the area of Science Education as a virtual and in-person Chemistry tutor.


Ms. Cavalier completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana.
